Quit after 23 yrs of smoking Day 1

Well I have smoked since I was 16. My smoking was about a pack a day and much more on the weekends while either going out to the bars or sitting by campfires.
I have
quit smoking in the past for about 6 months and then relapsed at a campfire one night and got back into smoking. My first attempt to quit I used chantix. Chantix did seam to help to take the edge off me while I quit.
This time I am using nothing. Haven't had a smoke for 1 day now. I am trying to keep my mind off smoking so I am not going places that I would normally smoke. Like I have not gone to the coffee shop to get my daily morning coffee because the drive to and back from the shop was my favorite smoking time. I have never smoked in my house so I have been hanging around the house trying to keep busy.
I feel tired but can"t sleep. I can already can tell that I can breath better. One thing I have been doing is to take 5 very deep breaths and then on the last breath hold the breath for about 10 seconds when a craving starts. This for some reason seems to give me a slight buzz and almost feels like I had a smoke.
I have never been addicted to any other drugs like Coke or herion, etc, but this smoking addiction is nasty.
All I can think about is smoking....right now. I am not going to smoke though. I am sick of giving tobacco companies a ton of money just to kill myself.
I have two little boys and a beautiful wife that love me very much and I want to remain around for them. Even though I dont think I smoked that much 1pk a day I was getting chest pains, difficult breathing, and a cough that was getting pretty nasty. I began coughing more toward the end of my first day.
I can't wait until day 3 is over. I remember my first time quiting and after day 3 everything was pretty good.

Well done on trying to give up smoking. It's a tough battle to fight. Rememebr to take a good quality vitamin C supplement to replenish your body.
There are natural products to help with various aspects of quitting smoking. Some help with the cravings and others with the withdrawal side effects. I have listed some of the more popular ones below.
