son has been taking acv pills

I read at hubpages.com about an apple cider vinegar cure by taking acv tablets. My son has been taking 625 mg twice a day for 2 1/2 weeks. In addition it was recommended to add evening primrose oil 2-3 times per day as well. He has had some improvement and I've heard it takes about a month to really start to see a lot of improvement. Maybe this will help others that don't like the taste of the vinegar.
Thank you for your blog and the information from other commenters especially about using 1/2 olive oil and 1/2 apple cider vinegar as a moisturizer twice a day.
I will update my son's progress in a couple weeks.
Editor's Note: The gamma-linoleic acid, linoleic acid and other nutrients in Evening Primrose Oil are essential for cell structure and improve the elasticity of the skin. Evening primrose oil is also a good anti-inflammatory.
It is calming for acne flare ups because of its ability to dilute sebum production. The oil has also been proven to treat dry, scaly, or itchy skin conditions, such as rosacea and atopic dermatitis. It also reportedly, has some modest benefits for eczema.
Good-luck for your son and let us know how his acne responds to the Apple Cider Vinegar Tablets and EPO.

Follow up to ACV capsulesby: Lisa (Cleveland, OH)
Well I gave it more than 4 months to see if taking 628 mg of ACV capsules and 500 mg of evening primrose oil 3 times a day would clear my son's acne like it has for others after about 6 weeks, but it did not work for him. There was some reduction in breakouts, but it didn't end all breakouts.
I have just started giving him Neem Leaf capsules; 500 mg. 2-3 times a day after doing some research on that. It's been a few weeks so too early to tell. I'd appreciate any information on Neem that you might have to offer. Or any other suggestions.
Kate's Reply: Hi Lisa, I'm sorry about the ACV pills not being as effective as they claim. I'm not sure about Neem leaf for acne. From the little bit I have read, it's been used in traditional medicine as a liver / blood cleanser. This seemed like a comprehensive website
DiscoverNeem.com, about the remedy.
Aloe Vera gel is a natural product that I have found quite helpful with helping moisturise acne skin without making it clogged or greasy as well as having antibacterial properties and soothing to inflammed skin - it very good on sunburn too.
